Access Log File
The access log will tell you where visitors go on your site and how they found your site in the first place. This information can help you see which pages on your web site people are finding.
Error Log File
The error log will tell you of any issue visitors might be finding on your site. This can include links from other site to your site, to pages which either no longer exist or have been moved. These are referred to as 404 errors, page not found. This information is useful to you, so you can create a 301 redirect, either to the new location or perhaps the main page of your site, to avoid those dreaded 404 errors.
